Michael Moignard left the Australian Public Service in 2011 after 35 years of experience in trade and resources policy, and trade promotion. He has a Master of Science degree in chemistry, a B.A. (Hons) in history and economics and a Diploma of Education. Michael spent over six years in India, as Senior Trade Commissioner for South Asia with the Australian High Commission in New Delhi. He first served in New Delhi from 1998 to 2000, and again from 2004 to 2008. Michael was involved with many trade missions to and from India and has spent considerable time in analysing the results of Government’s role in enhancing trade and investment.
He has worked closely with business organisations such as the Australia – India Business Council, and the Indian Confederation of Industry to support Australian business in India. Michael’s career in the Commonwealth Government included working in the Patents Office, Trade and Resources policy departments, and the Australian Trade Commission. He served with the Commission in New York, Santiago de Chile, Manila, Singapore and New Delhi.
