Dr Mandira Kala heads the legislative engagement and support function at India’s PRS Legislative Research in New Delhi. PRS is an independent non-partisan research institute providing support to all Members of Parliament on legislative and policy matters. Dr Kala also coordinates the Legislative Assistants to MPs (LAMP) Fellowship Program where young graduates are trained as legislative assistants and placed with an MP assisting their parliamentary work for a period of ten months.
Dr Kala completed her PhD in Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts, Boston and went on to become Research Associate, Centre for Social Policy at the same university . She was awarded the UNDP Asia-Pacific Human Development Academic Fellowship in 2008.
