Dennis Rumley

Dennis Rumley is Inaugural Professor of Indian Ocean Studies, University of Western Australia and was appointed as Australia’s focal point to the Indian Ocean Rim Academic Group (IORAG) in December 2010. Since obtaining a Ph D in political geography at the University of British Columbia he has taught and researched at the University of Western Australia, apart from 1991-3, when he was Professor of Australian Studies at the University of Tokyo. Wayne Lewis

After a successful career in the Australian Defence Forces, Wayne joined Melbourne’s RMIT University and became the head of the Department of Aerospace Technology in 1991. During his time at RMIT he managed a number of international training projects in China, Hon Kong and Bhutan. Read more.

 

 

 


Rory Medcalf

Rory Medcalf is Director of the International Security Program at the Lowy Institute for International Policy, Sydney, and is Senior Research Fellow in Indian Strategic Affairs at the University of New South Wales. He closely follows Australia’s relations with India and convenes the Australia-India Roundtable, a 1.5 track strategic dialogue between the two countries. His collaboration with the Australia-India Institute involves workshops and research on India-China relations as well as directing the Lowy India Poll. Read more.

 


Ajay Raina

Ajay Raina was a professor of electrical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in India, an institute he served from 1983 to 2000. In addition to research and teaching, he designed and established new ultra-modern labs for systems engineering studies, and also developed many new graduate courses and new program curricula. During this period he also worked as a national expert for various Indian federal agencies (AICTE and MHRD) dealing with tertiary education in technology, and was on various committees for establishment of new technical institutions in India.
