Acting Director and CEO Professor Muthupandian Ashokkumar and the Australia India Institute would like to thank Ms Tanya Spisbah for two successful years driving the Australia India Institute in Delhi and for all her contributions to the Australia-India relationship during that time.
During her two-year appointment, Tanya enhanced collaboration between the two countries contributing to countless projects and initiatives for the Australian Government’s Department of Education, Skills and Employment as well as for the Victorian Government.
Formerly the Head of Strategic International Engagement at UNSW and a diplomat at the Australian High Commission in Delhi, she has focused her career on global impact through diplomacy, representation in international fora, trade negotiation, consensus building and research collaboration. Tanya is a renowned and influential expert on Australia-India relations, particularly with respect to health and sustainable development. She has contributed to thought leadership on modern India as a speaker at global seminars and conferences on health, education and climate change.
Tanya’s future roles will include that of Australian delegate to the G20 Women’s Summit where she will be head delegate in India’s G20 host year of 2023.
