MEDIA RELEASE TiE
Women Entrepreneurs Program 2020
23rd April – 28th May, Victoria
(Delivered online via Zoom)
TiE Melbourne is excited to officially commence TwE, Australia’s first entrepreneurship program for migrant women in the state of Victoria, via a Zoom conference on the 23rd of April 2020.
TwE will be delivered in partnership with the Australia India Institute and the Australia India Chamber and support by the Victorian State Government.
The program follows activities from the 2018/19 diaspora seminars held at the Australia India Institute, in particular a Diaspora Forum on “Paving the Way for SME-StartUp Dialogues in the Indian Community” held on 24 June 2019 recommending an “The Indus Entrepreneurs” style program for women entrepreneurs of Indian heritage.
We are thrilled to have 14 participants with a varied range of business ideas and four mentors to help assist the participants on turning the idea into a robust business plan.
The program will consist of five workshops and a pitch finale in the sixth week. A representative from the winning team will have the opportunity to pitch their business plan at the global finale where the winner will be awarded a whopping USD$100,000 cash price.
All participants will receive ongoing mentoring by experienced TiE Melbourne members for a duration of 12 months.
Despite the given circumstances under COVID, we are thankful for the positive response and look forward to host a promising program for migrant women.
