The Australia India Institute sincerely congratulates the winning team of its inaugural TwE: TiE Women Entrepreneurs Program held in cooperation with TiE Melbourne, the Australia India Chamber of Commerce and supported by The Victorian Government .
Wrapped up on July 16, 2020 the TiE Women Entrepreneurs Program was Australia’s first such initiative for Indian-origin women entrepreneurs, launched in Victoria.
The Program comprised of 5 workshops delivered online by experienced entrepreneurs and facilitators on topics including Ideation and Conscious Entrepreneurship, High Performance Team Formation, Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies, Finance / Accounting and Preparing to Pitch.
Based on the tried and tested TiE model, mentors supported the participants in their entrepreneurship journey, by helping each team develop business concepts into a robust business plan.
The final pitch event saw the winning team, EcoSycle, a marketplace for performing musicians and artists, win $1000, a year of mentoring with TiE, and eligibility to participate in a TiE Women Global Finalist Competition, scheduled to take place in Dubai at the end of this year. The TiE Global Finalist will partake in the US$100,000 equity-free cash prize.
The 3 amazing co-founders of EcoSycle who came together through the program are Neel Bhattacharya, Parul Nalavade, Rahila Sarma and their mentor Neelam Chaurasia who will now have a chance to pitch their business plan at the Global TiE Final.
We also congratulate the other finalists Ashna Nain and Narmatha Thambipillay (Building Professional Connections) and Sandra D’Souza and Kokil Gupta (Ellect) for participating and for so enthusiastically preparing and presenting their business ideas. We heartily thank our judges Mira DSilva Rod Smith and Sanjiv Puri who had the difficult task of picking a winning team from a rather promising set of business ideas.
