The Women in School Leadership (WISL) pilot program was developed as part of Victoria’s India Strategy: Our Shared Future, to enhance engagement between Victorian and Indian schools. The program supported 12 female school principals from Victoria and India to explore and discuss the theme of Leading schools for social change with a focus on health and well-being.
This pilot program saw six Victorian and six Indian principals engage in reciprocal immersion experiences in Delhi and Victoria during 2019 and 2020.
Delivered in three phases, the program included formal professional learning, interactions with leaders in business, community, and education sectors, and an in-school component with a partner principal, including a homestay.
The program was developed and delivered by Asia Education Foundation in partnership with the Australia India Institute at the University of Melbourne.
