“There’s never been an urban solution to a rural problem … only the people on the ground know the solution to rural problems.” This has been the driving principle of Bunker Roy, who in 1972 founded the Barefoot College, in the village of Tilonia in Rajasthan, India, with the mission provide basic services and solutions in rural communities with the objective of making them self-sufficient.
