Greg graduated in Chemical Engineering from Melbourne University in 1975. He joined Shell and then completed his MBA at Melbourne University, graduating as the Clemenger Award winner in 1984. During his tenure with Shell he worked in Shell Australia’s Retail and Manufacturing businesses, was Manufacturing Director for Norske Shell, became Vice President Manufacturing, Supply and Distribution for Shell Europe, and Executive Vice President of Strategy and Portfolio for Royal Dutch Shell’s Oil Products Business. In 2003 he was appointed as Executive Vice President of Shell Downstream and President of Shell Global Solutions.

Greg has served as a Sasol Non-Executive Director, a Non-Executive Director of Alinta Energy, a Non-Executive Director of CO2CRC, Chairman of Molopo Energy, Chairman of LaTrobe Valley Power, Chairman of the Industry Advisory Group: Faculty of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Melbourne University, Chairman of Leofwine, President of The Institute of Chemical Engineers and President of the World Chemical Engineering Council.

Greg is currently Executive Director of Sapphire Global, Chairman of LaTrobe Valley Power, Chairman of the WAMA Foundation and Chairman of Emerald Experiences. He is an International Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of The Institution of Chemical Engineers and a Fellow of Engineers Australia.

In 2012, Greg was awarded the Order of Australia for his service to the profession of Chemical Engineering through senior roles in the petroleum industry, to business and commerce, and to professional organisations. He was awarded the CHEMECA medal in 2013 for outstanding service to Chemical Engineering.
