Australia India Leadership Dialogue

“Through the Australia India Leadership Dialogue, we seek to build deeper co-operation, closer friendships and stronger relationships based on trust between leaders in government, business and civil society from India and Australia. We will do this through open discussion, and by identifying new ways and new opportunities to work together”

Ross Fitzgerald and Amitabh Mattoo
Co-Chairs, Australia India Leadership Dialogue

The Australia India Leadership Dialogue (AILD) is the Aii’s annual flagship event and the pre-eminent forum for government and non-government exchanges between influencers and decision-makers in both nations. Launched in 2015, the Dialogue is held in each country in alternate years and covers a range of themes of fundamental importance to India and Australia. Topics canvassed include governance, geopolitics, water security, trade, economics and business, education and health.

The Australia India Leadership Dialogue has been held in Delhi (October 2015), Melbourne (December 2016), and Delhi (January 2018). You may review further details through each AILD’s handbook linked below:

The Australia India Institute looks forward to hosting the next AILD in December 2019 in Melbourne, with the ongoing support of Visy Industries, Aii@Delhi, CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) and The University of Melbourne.  We look forward to welcoming our Indian and Australian Delegates for another interesting, constructive and stimulating step forward in the further development of Australia-India relations.
